Economics- Students will create a supply and demand graph using the supply and demand schedule on page 103. After the graph is complete, students will determine the equilibrium price for the product mentioned (tennis shoes). At the end of the hour, students will preview chapter 5 section 3 by reading pages 108-111.
World History- Students will read about "The Factory System" during the industrial revolution on pages 359-362 before completing questions 2 and 3 on page 362.

Economics- Students will complete section 3 by reading up to page 112. They will complete questions 1-5 on p. 112 for homework.

Economics- Complete chapter 4 by reading pages 86-92. For classwork, students will complete questions 2-6 on page 92. As a review for the chapter students will complete p. 94 1-6 for homework. Due at the beginning of the hour tomorrow.
World History- Today, students will read about Napoleon and the "Napoleonic Era". For classwork, students will outline this section including 1 summary sentence for each paragraph of the section. Note: Due to decreased classtime on Wednesday, Students will continue this assignment tomorrow.

Thursday
Economics- Discuss yesterdays questions and move on from supply to demand as it applies to economics. Students will begin chapter 3 by reading pages 51-55 outloud. After a short video on supply and demand, students will complete questions 1,3, and 5 for homework.
World History- Continue yesterdays outline due to shortened class time on Wednesday.

Economics- We will begin by reviewing the terms from yesterdays economics dictionary. Students will then read chapter 1, section 1 (pages 3-7). Questions 2-4 and 6 will be answered for homework and discussed on Thursday.
World History- We will begin by reviewing yesterdays homework before reading pages 302-304 in class. When finished reading, we will answer questions 1, 2, and 4 on page 304.

Economics- Students will exchange papers and we will check yesterdays homework as a class. We will then begin reading section 2 (p. 8-10) and complete questions 1-5 for homework.
World History- Students will continue chapter 11 by reading section 4 on the American Revolution (p. 305-311). For homework, students will be expected to complete questions 1-3 on page 311. This assignment will be due at the beginning of the hour on Friday.

Economics-Today, students will read about "Opportunity Costs" on pages 11-14. As a review of the reading, we will answer questions 2-5 on page 14.
World History- Chapter 11 review. As a review of the chapter, students will complete "Identifying People and Ideas" 1-12 and "Understanding Main Ideas" 1-10. Both of these sections are found on page 312 of your textbook.

Monday- Students will view studyisland.com tutorial and recieve sections to study for the exam. Students are strongly encouraged to use this site for studying, since it is the source of their exam. All questions will be pulled from this.

Tuesday- Students will recieve a study guide that details the subjects covered on the final exam. This review includes both an online review through studyisland.com and a book review with their textbook.

Wednesday- 1st and 4th hour exams. Students dismissed at 11:20.

Thursday- 2nd and 5th hour exams. Students dismissed at 11:20.

Civics- Students will begin chapter 10 on the Judicial branch of the United States government. With the substitute teacher, students will read pages 217-221 in class and complete questions 1-5 on page 221. This assignment is due at the end of the hour.
World History- Students will be reading about Russia in the Age of Absolutism on pages 267-272 of their World History books. As a review, they will complete questions 1-4 on page 172 and turn them in by the end of the hour to the substitute.

Civics- First hour will continue chapter 10, section 2 by reading pages 222-224 and completing the 4 questions at the end of the section. 4th, 5th, and 6th hours will be hearing a presentation of creative career options at the Art Institute of Michigan. 1st hour will hear the same presentation on the 21st of January.
World History- Students will continue the topic of Absolutism in regards to Central Europe. Before completing questions 1-3 on page 277, students will read pages 273-277 out loud in class.

Civics- Students will begin watching a movie discussing Totalitarianism. Students will take compare/contrast notes on the totalitarian government vs. the United States' democratic government

Civics- Complete movie comparing totalitarianism and democracy.
World History- Students will watch a video discussing life in the middle ages and the plague. Notes will be taken on the main points and turned in at the end of the hour.

Civics- Students will complete the chapter 6 reveiw on page 149 (#s 1-6, 9, 10, and 11). Due Monday at the beginning of the hour.

The 2009-2010 school year is upon us. I am seeing many new faces in my classrooms and am very happy to have so many enthusiastic students. This school year I will be teaching 11th grade English and 9th grade English. For all of the first time Dragons, welcome to Clintondale. For all of the returners, let's get ready to have another year of improved MME (Michigan Merit Exam) scores!!
